I spent most of today collecting all the items I had for the spiral surf quilt. I found most of it and now am reading the book “Simply amazing Spiral Quilts”, by RaNae Merrill. I am trying to figure out how I made the blocks in 2010 and as soon as I do, I can finish my quilt. this is from my stash and I am not sure how big I can make it. I will post my adventure with this quilt as I go. If you have any suggestions let me know because I really want to finish this one this year. Have a great weekend and let me know what you are working on.

I have several antique machines that I love to sew on. Some of them are treadles and others are handcranks. The handcranks are wonderful for my Granddaughter to use and she has been using them since she was 3 years old.
I have a goal of making a quilt on each of my machines that represent the year they were made and quilting the final designs on them using the same antique machine. I have seen videos of a lady quilting on her treadle. It totally fascinates me and I have got to try it sometime. You have to pedal fast and move the quilt as you go. I can see beautiful victorian feathers done this way but have not been successful in doing it.
Let me know if you use these machines in you quilting. It is so fun to exchange blocks with others who have antique machines. I have done this several times and would love to do it again.
Have a great week and God Bless you.
