I have several antique machines that I love to sew on. Some of them are treadles and others are handcranks. The handcranks are wonderful for my Granddaughter to use and she has been using them since she was 3 years old.
I have a goal of making a quilt on each of my machines that represent the year they were made and quilting the final designs on them using the same antique machine. I have seen videos of a lady quilting on her treadle. It totally fascinates me and I have got to try it sometime. You have to pedal fast and move the quilt as you go. I can see beautiful victorian feathers done this way but have not been successful in doing it.
Let me know if you use these machines in you quilting. It is so fun to exchange blocks with others who have antique machines. I have done this several times and would love to do it again.
Have a great week and God Bless you.
I love my antique machines

Aargh! WordPress is driving me crazy! Third time is the charm. LOL That’s a beautiful cabinet. I don’t have one yet, but I hope to do quilts on them when I do get some.

I have this same machine and cabinet. I refinished it and it’s gorgeous!

Hi Kerry, do you have a picture of it refinished? I left this in the original finish but think it would be so beautiful refinished.

I have this same machine and am wondering what it is worth? It was my grandmothers and I inherited it. Thanks!
